The future home of the Pickford Film Center is an historical 100 year old building located at 1318 Bay Street in downtown Bellingham. Poised at the entrance to the Cultural District, the Film Center will be a popular destination for visitors and residents alike.

Volunteers during demolition weekend in September 2006.

What was in the basement? 100 years of junk!

Volunteer, Paul Wright, shows off amazingly dirty arms during demolition.

WFA Board President, Kathy Washatka, and volunteer, Campbell Thibo, taking a break from the insanity.

April 07: The next step was to excavate approximately 25 dump trucks of dirt from the basement making it a usable ceiling height.

The dirt was removed by a conveyor that went up and out of the hole we cut in back and into a dump truck.

May 07: The rear wall of the building was tuckpointed and unused windows are sealed.

June 07: At last we are pouring concrete in the basement. The roller rink is now ready.

The WFA is pleased to bring you The Inside Scoop with all the latest information from “behind the scenes” of the Pickford Film Center Capital Campaign
