Frequently Asked Questions
- What is happening with the Traveling Pickford Show?
-
This is a big year for us at the Whatcom Film Association as we move towards
our dream of relocating the Pickford Cinema
to Bay Street
and creating a two-screen film center in downtown Bellingham. In order to stay
sane and focused on this project we have decided to keep the
Traveling Pickford Show outdoor cinema simple this year by once again
collaborating with Boundary Bay Brewery
to produce the Thursday night Cult Movie Nights
You must be 21 or over to attend our Thursday night Cult Movie Nights at Boundary Bay.
- How do I get a full schedule to the Traveling Pickford Show?
-
To find out when our outdoor movies are you can visit the
schedule page,
check out July’s PICKFORD FILMCalendar, which will be available at the
Pickford Cinema.
- Are you the same group that has been showing movies down in Fairhaven in past years?
-
Yes! We started the Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema down in Fairhaven in 1998 in an
effort to gain attention for our newly created organization, the
Whatcom Film Association. This group
started with the mission of bringing more great independent, classic and
foreign films to Bellingham mainly via
the Pickford Cinema, which we
were able to open in November 19980—largely due to the success of the
first year of the outdoor cinema. This will be the ninth year we have produced
this event, which remains a primary fundraiser for our organization.
- How long is the season?
-
We will start our Cult Movie Night series on Thursday, July 12th.

For the Princess Bride show on Bay Street on Friday, July 6th bring
your own chairs as this will be taking place on the street. You can also bring

low backed chairs as well but food and drinks will be available for purchase
at the restaurant.
- How much does it cost?

Shows at Boundary Bay are $3 per

Whatcom Film Association, the
